Mr. Kowalkowski is a lifelong Michigan resident. He completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University. After graduation he went on to receive his law degree from the Wayne State University Law School. While in law school he worked for Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Gene Schnelz and as a law clerk for an Oakland County criminal defense firm.
Upon graduation Mr. Kowalkowski accepted a position with one of the busiest criminal defense law firms in metro Detroit. There he handled criminal defense work exclusively while representing clients in almost every court in the State. In his five years at the firm Mr. Kowalkowski gained courtroom experience it takes most lawyers 10 years or more to achieve.
Mr. Kowalkowski believes strongly in continuing education. After graduation from Wayne State he participated in the acclaimed Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan Trial Lawyer’s College in 2008. He also became certified in the use of BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) Tracker Software, allowing him to perform complex calculations for his clients to determine the accuracy of evidence being used against them. He has also received intensive trial practice training from renowned expert Dr. Paul Homoly.
Since joining Pierce, Farrell, Tafelski & Wells Mr. Kowalkowski has further expanded his skills while representing individuals in a variety of complex legal issues. His reputation and clientele has resulted in representation of individuals facing all types of crimes throughout the state of Michigan. He believes in thorough preparation of every file as a means for achieving the best outcome. In addition, he prides himself on outstanding communications with clients at every step of their legal process.
Recently, Mr. Kowalkowski was selected into the National Trial Lawyers Association Top 100 Trial Lawyers, which is a professional organization, by invitation only, comprised of America’s top trial attorneys.
