When I recently had an issue at the airport, I decided to call Paul on the weekend. He called me back on a Sunday! He dealt with my issue without me having to fly back to Michigan and got it dismissed. The City of Plymouth, according to the 2000 Census, housed 9,022 residents. Although the City of Plymouth is located within the borders of Plymouth Township, the city remains administratively and politically autonomous. Plymouth ranks among MI's earliest established communities. The northern portion of this unassuming community rests on the historic remains of Phoenix, a legendary ghost town.
Plymouth, MI boasts a vibrant downtown district, where myriad cafes, restaurants, and retail establishments line the borders of a large scenic park. This charming community has twelve parks, and is the host of numerous community celebrations, such as the Ice Sculpture Spectacular and Art in the Park. Established in 1980, the beloved Art in the Park celebration ranks as the second largest art fair in Michigan.
Plymouth's International Ice Sculpture Spectacular is North America's largest and oldest ice carving event. Held in January, this weeklong festival began in 1982.
