Dearborn Heights, Michigan incorporated from the pre-existing Dearborn Township and a small swath of land from Inkster on June 20, 1960.  Consisting of nearly 12 square miles, this moderately sized community reported a population of more than 58,000 at the time of the 2000 Census.  Located in the Detroit metro area, Dearborn Heights, MI lies within a fifteen minute drive of Detroit Metropolitan Airport, with convenient access to Interstate 94 and I-96.

Dearborn Heights acts as a bedroom community to the bustling City of Detroit, where the sectors of automotive manufacturing, biotechnology, casino gaming, global trade, healthcare, and international law rank among the top employers.  Detroit is home to numerous Fortune 500 companies such as DTE Energy, and other well-known companies such as Compuware and Little Caesars Pizza.
